Mary McCarthy's CIA woes

So what do Mary McCarthy, Dana Priest, Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, Richard Clarke, Sandy Berger , Gen. Anthony Zinni and Fidel Castro all have in common? Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs plays Connect the Dots. The list just keeps getting longer!

Al Gore: Scare Monger

Jonah Goldberg has a great article at the LA Times about the Davis Guggenheim's documentary about Gore's green crusade titled "An Inconvenient Truth."

Just ask the 60 climatologists from around the world who wrote Canada's prime minister that "observational evidence does not support today's computer climate models, so there is little reason to trust model predictions of the future." But that's all beside the point to Gore & Co., who say the time for debate is over. And if you disagree, get ready for the witch hunt. Major news media have gone after scientists who argue there's still time to study global warming rather than plunge into some half-baked environmental jihad that could waste possibly trillions of dollars.

WMD's? What WMDs

Melanie Philips has the story here: Saddam's Secrets

FrontPage Magazine has more: Exporting Saddam's WMDs

The discovery of banned WMD engines should forever silence those who believe Saddam had no stockpile of weapons, or that all such stockpiles were destroyed before the war. Saddam gassed his own people. He had WMDs that miraculously ended up in the hands of Jordanian al-Qaeda terrorists. And now we find his pre-war armory of chemical and biological weapons, including anthrax agents, is being shipped around the world. The fact that these transfers have taken place in an independent Iraq should only reinforce the righteousness of toppling Saddam. In a post-Saddam Iraq, these weapons are being found in shipyards in the Netherlands and Jordan; had Saddam stayed in power, more and more of them may have ended up in the hands of Osama bin Laden. UNMOVIC’s finding is simply further evidence that Operation Iraqi Freedom was justified – and the opposition was willfully ignorant of the threat Saddam Hussein posed to American security.

Has Ahmadinejad Miscalculated?

Victor Davis Hanson is one of my favorite authors.

Has Ahmadinejad Miscalculated?
The Iranian president better sober up and do some cool reckoning.

The Islamic world lost their Middle Eastern nuclear deterrent with the collapse of the Soviet Union — no surprise, then, that we have not seen a multilateral conventional attack on Israel ever since. But with a nuclear Islamic Iran, the mullahs can claim that a new coalition against Israel would not be humiliated — or at least not annihilated when it lost — since the Iranians could always, Soviet-like, threaten to go nuclear. There are surely enough madmen in Arab capitals who imagine that, at last, the combined armies of the Middle East could defeat Israel, with the guarantee that a failed gambit could recede safely back under an Islamic nuclear umbrella.

When is a leek not a leek?

When it comes from the President of course! Every few weeks the MSM and the Democrats concoct some sort of non-scandal that always turns out to be much ado about nothing. This one is no different!

Bush Authorized Leaks About Iraq, Libby Testified.

Since the President has the ultimate authority to declassify information, it's not really a leek. It was also covered back in July of 2003 when he originally declassified portions of the National Intelligence Estimate. Not much was made of it back then. So why all of a sudden are they so worried that the President compromised national security? Shear demagoguery. They’re trying to intimate that the President authorized Libby to leek Valerie Plame’s name. The only problem is, this has absolutely nothing to do with Valerie Plame.

For a little background on the Plame affair read this article by Stephen F. Hayes:
The White House, the CIA, and the Wilsons

Even the left is starting to realize that Joe Wilson is an idiot.
